The Launch of the Energy Protocol

On April 21, the Energy Protocol was officially launched and gifted to the world. From a room high in the Faculty Tower at the Faculty Club, University of California, Berkeley, Jonas Birgersson, Chairman of the EnergyNet Task Force, pressed the button that made the protocol public.

This open standard enables intelligent energy sharing. Smart microgrids can communicate, cooperate, and transact energy within and between themselves, while also interacting with the traditional grid. This creates the foundation for a truly interoperable, global energy network. Much like the birth of the Internet’s open protocols, this moment marks the start of a new era in distributed, resilient, and democratic energy systems.

The Energy Protocol is an open standard, donated to humanity under a zero license. The latest version can be found on GitHub. The non-profit organization that developed and continues to develop EP is the EnergyNet Task Force (ENTF). Read more and get in contact at: https://www.energynettaskforce.org/
